Back2Business is the most exciting business-networking event of the year and the chance to make new contacts and renew old ones. We are very pleased to announce that on 14 May we will have a site visit at the Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar Ltd. (NDSQ) Ras Laffan, Industrial City and a presentation on the topic “Shipbuilding and Maintenance, all about Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar” by Jan-Wim Dekker, Managing Director of NDSQ.
For the transportation to the Ras Laffan, Industrial City we have arranged a touring bus which will depart at 3 pm from the Lagoon shopping mall parking area in front of 51 East (the Zig Zag tower). We kindly ask the attendees to be at the Lagoon shopping mall parking area latest at 2:45 pm.
Due to limited place (#30) in our bus we have to apply the “first come, first serve” rule. The DBCQ members have the priority registration rights.
We can slightly increase number of attendees, only for those who are already registered within the Ras Laffan, Industrial City (e.g Shell members).
NDSQ does not want to have (for safety and security restrictions in Ras Laffan) people travelling from outside Ras Laffan Industrial City to the shipyard by their own transport.

NDSQ is a joint venture between Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd (Nakilat) and the Damen Shipyard Group (Damen). Nakilat is the world’s leading transporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and Damen is a global leader in standardized and modular shipbuilding. As part of the Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard facility in the Port of Ras Laffan, NDSQ is contribution to the development of Qatar’s maritime industry.
NDSQ builds ship in steel or aluminium of up to 170m in length. Their products are for both the naval and commercial sectors. Currently NDSQ employs around 500 people and has 20 ships in production (19 Vessels for Qatar Petroleum Mesaieed and one 140m load-out-recovery barge for Qatar Petroleum Ras Laffan).
From 2012 NDSQ will have state-of-the-art facilities dedicated to the construction of Nakilat Yachts up to 165m in length, in addition to the build of yacht support vessels and the repair and conversion of mega yachts. These facilities will include fully climate-controlled halls enabling interior and exterior finishing to the highest yachting standards.
